Medical waste collected by MedPro or our affiliates, is transported to a processing facility. At the facility, infectious waste is loaded into stainless steel treatment bins. The bins are loaded into an autoclave for treatment and sterilization under low pressure steam (40 PSI) and high temperature (285 deg F).
Once the processing cycle is complete (approximately one hour), the treated infectious waste is removed from the units and loaded into a sealed self contained MSW compactor. The treated material is then sent to an approved landfill for disposal. Once the waste has reached its final destination, a completed manifest verifying that it has been properly disposed of is returned to the generator.
Other leading Medical Waste Disposal companies may incinerate your waste. At MedPro we believe that the most eco-friendly treatment of waste utilizes autoclaves whenever possible.
