Storage Requirements

It must be designated within a room. The storage area shall be in an enclosed building, container or vehicle so that infectious waste is not exposed to weather. Access to the infectious waste shall be limited to authorized personnel. Nuisance conditions shall be prevented from developing. Appropriate measures shall be taken to prevent odors, including refrigerating the infectious waste below 42 degrees Fahrenheit until treated. Containers shall be removed and emptied at least every 90 days.
