This week, I started my third week of my internship with MedPro Disposal. A lot has happened during my first two weeks, but I have learned so much in the short amount of time I have been here.
As the only in-office marketing intern, I have been juggling multiple projects and applying what I have learned in the classroom. Managing the social media and updating the website have been my main focus. Through exposure to various software, I have been able to further develop my skills beyond the classroom.
Interning with MedPro Disposal has opened my eyes to the healthcare industry. Prior to my internship, it was an industry I knew very little about, but is one with many different needs. Marketing in the healthcare space is much different than in, say, the technology space. Marketing business to business has also been very different because as consumers we are used to business to consumer marketing.
I have learned a lot about the company and its employees in my short time here. Everyone has been very nice and invested in my success. They are quick to help me whenever I have questions and provide guidance when necessary. The lively atmosphere pushes everyone to put their best foot forward. However, it is also laid back enough to have genuine conversations and get to know everyone on a personal level.
I have four weeks left, and I am excited that I am able to use my skills and knowledge to help MedPro Disposal achieve its goals.
