In the Eyes of the Intern: Megan

Sales Internship - Megan

Being past the halfway point of my sales internship, I can officially say I have a grip on the day-to-day life here in the MedPro Disposal office. Before my first day at this internship, I can honestly acknowledge the fact that besides looking through the website and a couple Google searches, I had no idea what the medical waste industry consisted of. Over the past few weeks, I have learned how demanding this industry is, how rapidly it is growing and how MedPro Disposal sits in the sweet spot of this market.

Coming into this sales internship, I really was not sure what to expect, but MedPro Disposal instantly exceeded my expectations. The atmosphere here in the office is beyond what I imagined, and it seemed like everyone went out of their way to make sure we felt welcome. It has been so easy to ask questions to expand our knowledge on the industry and the software we are using daily. Current sales reps have also gone out of their way to allow us to shadow them, which let us to see how the sales process is handled at MedPro Disposal. I am happy to say I have really been able to apply my knowledge from previous college courses due to the constant contact with others in the office.

I’ve been able to do some cold-calling and talk with customers on the phone during my time here. I was nervous at first, but as I’ve continued to call it’s gotten easier as time has gone on. I’ve also been able to work on some sales projects like gathering lead information.

With the rest of my time here at MedPro Disposal, I’m ambitious to reach multiple goals and really put my best foot forward in this fast-paced environment to take away as much as I can.
