Eden Prairie is an edge city, 12 miles southwest of downtown Minneapolis in Hennepin County, and the 13th largest city in the U.S. state of Minnesota.
Practice Type | Zip Code | Projected Annual Savings |
---|---|---|
Dermatology | 56303 | $68 |
Hospice | 55330 | $90 |
Educational | 55404 | $4,700 |
Named one of Money Magazine’s “Best Places to Live” in America since 2006, Eden Prairie, MN has over 170 miles of trails, 2,250 acres of parks, and 1,300 acres of open land for recreational activities.
North Memorial Clinic, as well as Fairview Clinics are just some of the facilities responsible for keeping the residents of Eden Prairie healthy and well. However, treating a large city like this one requires lots of supplies, which eventually ends up as medical waste. Many are not familiar with the requirements surrounding the disposal of medical waste. Coming into contact with biohazardous waste can be extremely detrimental to the health of an individual, which is why the proper disposal of this waste is at the utmost of importance. Getting stuck by a used needle can lead to infection and the transmission of blood-borne diseases.
What exactly is classified as medical waste? Medical waste can be a number of things, including soaked gauze bandages, used sharps needles, IV bags, as well as soiled gloves. All of these items, including many more, must be disposed of immediately after use, and in the correct fashion. Failure to do so can lead to infections and contamination of sterile environments, which, according to the CDC, resulted in 17 million cases of infection in hospitals during 2011.
MedPro Disposal is here to make sure those infections don’t happen outside the health facility with our premier medical waste disposal services. Keeping biohazardous waste out of the normal waste stream is critical to protecting the nature-rich environment of Eden Prairie and its surroundings. It is important to remember that medical waste cannot be placed in a standard waste bucket that is destined for a landfill, it must be placed in a container that is then sterilized and disposed of according to regulations.
Here at MedPro Disposal, we believe you should not be paying ridiculous amounts for a service that is required by law. We want to save your practice money, and are very capable of doing so. Our current customers consistently see savings in the 20-40% range compared to their previous waste hauler. These savings can then be passed onto patients, leading to greater satisfaction for all. Our pricing is no-frills attached, meaning we charge based on frequency of pickup and the amount of waste being picked up. You will never see added charges for environmental fees or fuel and energy.
While we specialize in regulated medical waste disposal, or RMW, we also offer pharmaceutical disposal and OSHA compliance for facilities in the Eden Prairie area. Our pharmaceutical mail-back program is the most efficient method for disposing of old, unused medications. MedPro Disposal will send your practice a 2.5 gallon bucket that medications are placed into as needed. Once the bucket is full, simply attach the included pre-paid shipping label and mail it to our disposal facility. A new bucket is mailed out to your facility, and you are only charged when the bucket is full, whether that takes one month or one year!
Your employees being OSHA compliant is required by law and crucial to ensuring safe handling of any situation that may arise in a healthcare environment. OSHA estimates that 5.6 million healthcare workers handle contaminated waste every day. Our online OHSA portal is extremely easy to use, and allows for an administrator to assign individual tests or group training, and even shows each employee’s training progress. Gone are the days of having a trainer come in, which is very expensive and consumes valuable time that could be used to treat patients.
Stop spending more than you should on a required service and let MedPro Disposal handle your RMW, pharmaceutical disposal, and OSHA training. You will not be disappointed.
Originally named “Eden” in 1853, this city gets its name from the admiration of the beautiful prairie that occupies the southern portion of the city.
Eden Prairie has historically been a slow-growing, pastoral village on the far Southwest side of the Twin Cities. In fact, between 1880 and 1960, Eden Prairie’s population only grew from 740 to 2,000. Many of the original farmhouses still standing are over a century old, and can be found on the National Register of Historic Places.
Now home to over 2,200 business, Eden Prairie grew substantially in the mid 1970’s with the addition of Interstate Highway 494 and the development of large shopping centers.
The city's name is attributed to Eden Prairie, which was named by the founder, Robert Anderson. However, a small village named Eden appears on an 1849 map located on the Minnesota River, just south of Eden Prairie's current location.
